Money is Like a Bird

 Many people lack money not because they don’t want it but because they don’t understand it

The Bible says in Proverbs 23:5 that riches (money) has wings and like a bird, it flies to the sky.

Those that understand money send it on errands and money works for them. Those that don’t understand money run errands for money thereby becoming errand boys and girls for money. For such people, money is the reason they do what they do.

Treat money like a bird. Set traps with baits for it and see it pursuing you. Money is an industrious  taskmaster that can work for you or make you work for it.

In Luke 19 from verse 13, Jesus told a parable that shows that money should be invested in assets or ventures that will bring profit. Even if you don’t know what to do with that money, keep it in the bank, according to that parable. It is better kept in the bank where it will attract some interests. Though insignificant, it is better than burying it in the ground which is synonymous to leaving the money idle. Jesus further taught in John 12:24 that when a seed (in this case) money is left as it is, it brings no value. But when it is down, that is, invested, it yields dividends.

This implies that to have more money, you need to start sending money on errands while it is small. Don’t wait until you have plenty money to start investing. By then money would have mastered you and you would be the one running errands for it. 

Money likes errands. Be the one sending it on errand before it starts sending you on errand.

Tie down money by using it to buy assets, not liabilities. Assets bring money to your account. Liabilities take money away from your account. 

When you buy a real asset, it’s like trapping money with a bait. This is because money flows positively around assets but negatively around liabilities. 

When money sees the way you utilize it effectively, by its nature, it will be attracted and more money will flow in your direction. Conversely, when money sees the way it utilizes you, it does it more.

No matter how little it is, but an asset that generates revenue - this is the trap. Reinvest the revenue generated or part of it, that is the bait. Money, like bird, will fly towards you. But if you spend everything you earn, without investing any part of it, money will know and riches will fly away from you. You will then need to start pursuing money up and down.

Start by saving 20% of all you income  in your times of plenty, like Joseph advised Pharaoh. This 20% saved the world. 

George Samuel Clason, in his book, The Richest Man in Babylon, advised saving minimum of 10% of every income. The more you save, the more the likelihood of hardship in the present but the more also is the likelihood of pleasure later. This is if you use the money this saved wisely.

Liabilities propel riches to fly away from you. Assets attract money in your direction.

Knowledge is Power

There is a saying that “knowledge is power”. And that the correct application of knowledge is Wisdom. A wise man will overcome a mighty man, any day, anytime. Bankruptcy of wisdom (and knowledge in the relevant areas) is suicidal.  Please seek knowledge.

Furthermore, ignorance is a disease. Knowledge is the cure. This disease called ignorance is responsible for the wretchedness and pitiable conditions of many individuals and groups. The only cure to this disease and other ailments caused by it is knowledge.

No matter how high or how far someone has attained, ignorance can bring the fellow down. Ignorance entails not knowing the outcome of one’s actions, inactions or reactions in certain circumstances. Everything you do or refrain from doing at the right time has associated outcomes - consequences and repercussions.

Knowledge brings people out of poverty and ignorance freely conveys them to poverty. Learn something about what you’re passing through. Take necessary actions and you’ll see the difference.

The more you know (learn), the more you know the little you know.

Success and achievements in life are often determined by the extent of the knowledge acquired and applied. 

Acquiring knowledge may not always yield immediate results, but will ultimately produce worthwhile gains.

Make it a duty to learn something new everyday. Especially, something relevant to you.

9.       Ask God to let you enjoy peace like a river – in your body, in your marriage, in your business, ministry, etc 23:2

9.       O Lord, for your love sake, give the wicked as a ransom for me, and let him replace me in the evil he had prepared for me. Isa.43:3-4.
